Hafa adai. My name is Alex Maloney, and I am a former Irish football player. This is the journal detailing my career as a football manager. Firstly, my vital statistics.
I was born in Cork in December 1975. Ever since I could walk, I was obsessed with football. As I grew up, I joined various teams around Ireland, playing as a combative left midfielder with the ability to run forward and supply my attackers. My big break came in a park in Cork aged fifteen in 1990, as a scout from an English club was watching me play for Cork Firebolts under sixteens in a major Irish youth team tournament.
